Marvelous
Mud Rooms
The back entrance,
a corner of the garage, a sunny
transition room (breezeway) between house and garage, or a
back
porch – wherever you can find the space – is a
perfect
place for a mud-room. Or maybe mud-room is a misnomer!
How
about a dressing room for pool users? Or a potting room for
the
home gardener? Whatever you decide to call it, include these
things in yours:
- Seating for
removing and putting on rainwear or
boots, or to stash pool supplies. (Create it from
18” high
wall cabinets or use deep drawers set on furniture feet!)
- Wall hooks or
pegs for outerwear, umbrellas, hats or
fishing equipment
- Some yard tools
could be stored in your mud room,
too!
- Include tile
floors for easiest clean-up and greatest
durability
- Is there room
for a pedestal sink? What a
convenience!
